Shire Professional Funding gives up work’s Secret Santa to support a children’s charity
We at Shire Professional Funding love Secret Santa as much as anyone and we look forward to it every year. After all, who does not like receiving a pleasant (in most cases) surprise from an unknown sender? However, this Christmas we have decided to do something different… A Secret Santa with a twist, in aid of a good cause.
The team has decided to support a local charity, the Children of Ukraine, whose mission is to deliver festive gifts, warm clothing and other essential supplies to several orphanages across the war-torn country. Steven Holland, a father and the founder of the charity, personally drives from the United Kingdom through Europe to Ukraine every year to transport and bring gifts directly to children affected by the ongoing conflict in the region.
All ShirePF team members have spent our Secret Santa money for children’s presents, which have been loaded on Steven’s truck. He has received over 100 individually wrapped Christmas gifts from us, which he will pass onto children himself this later week. We estimate that Ste is now on his way to Ukraine at the time of writing, and he will soon be putting smiles on children’s faces. In addition, Shire Professional Funding has made a cash donation to further help make a difference.
The Children of Ukraine team is headed up by the founder Steven and his former colleague Danny, two High-Risk Security Advisors working throughout Ukraine since 2022. In the past, they have been involved in other missions in Afghanistan, Iraq and Israel. Steven has headed up and personally taken on the last 5 visits to Ukraine.
As the conflict shows no signs of abating, resulting in significant damage to both civilian areas and critical energy infrastructures, Steven and the Children of Ukraine charity continue their efforts in aiding displaced children and families. Providing children with the assistance they need to get through the harsh winter months ahead is especially important and the team’s next objective.
